Oud Maximus is Bortnikoff’s tribute to raw, untamed oud. A rare convergence of Laotian, Indian, and Thai agarwood oils harmonized with four precious rose varieties in a technique developed to preserve each note’s integrity. It opens with animalic oud brightened by jasmine and citrus, blooms into an ambery rose and magnolia heart, and settles into a deep, magnetic base of oud, smooth civet, and musk. Composed by Dmitry Bortnikoff as a personal tribute to his son Maxim, this extrait captures oud’s full emotional intensity: complex, wild, and luminous.
